Your go-to source for staying connected with industry trends, company highlights, and career opportunities in Architecture, Engineering, and Construction Technology.
Hi! Stefanie here, one of the three founders of AEC Tech Jobs! I’m excited to dive into this next edition of Behind AEC Tech Jobs! This issue is going to dive into what we are reading, some awesome open roles, and a brand new resource all about Product Management and how to become/pivot to this role- that I’m so excited for you to check out and learn from!
Let’s dive in!
What we are reading/watching in the AEC world:
Procore just announced Assist, a new set of AI agents built directly into its platform. The goal? To handle repetitive tasks, surface insights, and keep projects moving without drowning teams in admin. For AEC pros, this signals a shift: instead of AI as an add-on tool, it’s becoming embedded in the systems that run our projects. The question now isn’t if AI will change construction workflows — it’s how fast.
The riskiest (and costliest) mistakes in construction often hide in plain sight — inside drawing sets. This Bluebeam + Firmus deep dive explores how AI can scan PDFs to flag inconsistencies before they turn into RFIs, delays, or six-figure rework. For AEC pros, the takeaway is clear: if drawings are the industry’s DNA, catching flaws early is the key to healthier projects and margins. Bluebeam has recently acquired Firmus.
NFL teams aren’t just competing on the field — they’re racing to build the next generation of billion-dollar stadiums. Washington, Cleveland, Tennessee, Chicago, and Jacksonville are each pushing forward with massive new projects, many featuring enclosed roofs, mixed-use developments, and capacities north of 60,000. Beyond sports, these stadiums are designed as economic engines, anchoring housing, retail, and mega-event opportunities.

Deep Dive: From AEC to ConTech Product Management
The construction technology space is booming. Startups are transforming how we design, build, and operate—and they’re hungry for professionals who understand the real-world challenges of projects.
But here’s the catch: most of these companies don’t just need engineers, architects, or project managers. They need product managers—people who can bridge the gap between what the field needs and what technology teams build.
If you’ve ever thought:
“I see the inefficiencies every day… I wish I could help fix them.”
“I’d love to be part of the solutions shaping the industry’s future.”
“But I have no idea how to break into tech roles.”
…then you’re not alone. That’s exactly the leap many AEC professionals are trying to make.
Why Product Management?
Product managers (PMs) in ConTech act as translators between construction expertise and software development. They:
Identify pain points in workflows
Prioritize which problems tech should solve first
Align product features with customer needs
In short: they’re at the center of turning field knowledge into digital solutions.
Your Roadmap to Pivoting
To help you see what this transition looks like, AEC Tech Jobs co-founder Allister Lewis created a free guide:
📘 The AEC-to-ConTech Playbook: How to Become a Product Manager
Inside, you’ll learn:
How to reposition your AEC experience so it speaks the language of tech
The key PM skills every pivoting professional should master
A step-by-step roadmap for making the move
Real stories of people who successfully crossed the bridge
Tools, communities, and resources to accelerate your journey
Why this matters now
ConTech companies aren’t just experimenting anymore—they’re scaling. Which means the demand for PMs who truly understand AEC workflows is only going up.
